TEAM EVOLUTION / REVOLUTION

Aidan Anderson
Social Studies Teacher
Hello, my name is Aidan Anderson. I am from a small town in Ohio, but always sought to explore. I have lived in Chile, Costa Rica, and Taiwan. I believe teaching has the power to broaden perspectives, provide access, and bring about a more just society if all students are given quality education. I love teaching, and always seek to improve at serving my students. Some of my other passions include spending time in nature, singing, playing drums, dancing, learning languages, and exploring.

Physical Educational Teacher
My name is Isabel Polanco, and I am a Physical Education teacher. I hold a Master’s degree in Physical Education K–12 from Queens College. I enjoy guiding students to become physically active, develop skills, and maintain lifelong fitness. In addition to teaching, I serve as an Athletic Director and Coach. I practice what I preach—staying active through workouts and sports. I believe that to inspire students to live healthy, I must model a healthy lifestyle myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to guide students in becoming physically educated adult

RUBY KIM
Math Teacher
I was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Korea. I came back to the United States when I was 17. I graduated from FIHS and attended Stony Brook University to obtain my bachelor's degree in math education. To receive my master's degree in pure mathematics, I studied at Queens College. I am also a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. Before I returned to FIHS as an educator, I taught 8th-grade math in the Bronx. This year, I teach 9th and 10th-grade math on the E/R team. I love teaching at FIHS because I can share my immigration story to support my students academically and emotionally.

Sandra Fritz
ESL Teacher
Hello! I’m Sandra. I’m Colombian, and Spanish is my native language. As an ELA
educator, I feel fortunate to work at F.I.H.S. with students from diverse cultural and
linguistic backgrounds. I value the many perspectives, languages, and stories that
students bring to the classroom.
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about helping students find their voice,
build confidence, and grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. I strive to create a
welcoming and supportive classroom where students feel valued, take risks, and
discover their potential. My hope is that students leave my classroom not only with
stronger skills, but also with the confidence to make a positive difference in their
communities and the world around them.
I’m a graduate of Binghamton University and Bank Street College of Education.
