Meet the community school team
Hi FIHS Team!
We’re already in our third week of school, and things are moving quickly! We’re busy preparing for the launch of our afterschool clubs, academic support sessions, junior mentoring, student engagement initiatives, and many other programs and activities planned for this year. There’s a lot happening, so keep reading below for more details about what’s coming up and, most importantly, how you can get involved this year!
But first, I’d like to introduce the team working alongside me to support our students and school community. Both Jennifer and Anjela are former FIHS students, which makes their connection to our school and our students especially meaningful.
Ms. Anjela
Community School Coordinator
Anjela is in her 6th year working at FIHS! Originally from Afghanistan, Anjela speaks Farsi and has been an important part of our FIHS community for many years. Anjela will be at FIHS Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, supporting:

Ms. Jennifer
After-School & Student Engagement Coordinator
This is Jennifer’s 4th year working at FIHS! Originally from Ecuador, Jennifer speaks Spanish and brings a valuable perspective and connection to our multilingual community. Jennifer will be at FIHS Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, supporting:

Angel Morales
Community School Director
I’m the Community School Director at Flushing International High School. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and I’ve been living in NYC since 2006.
My role is to help build a strong connection between our students, families, school staff, and community. I work on programs and opportunities that support student success, family engagement, after-school activities, and community partnerships.
I’m excited to work with our FIHS community this year and help create opportunities where every student and family feels welcomed, supported, and connected.
